Plum Dessert

Use any variety of plum – all will work – the Black Friar variety produces a dark red sauce.

Cut the plums in half and remove the seed.

Place in sauce pan and add water to cover the bottom of the pan, approximately 1/4 to 1/2 inch deep.

Sprinkle sugar over prunes then sprinkle real maple syrup over the prunes.  The amount of sugar, maple syrup and water is not critical but a factor in the thickness of the reduced sauce.

Cover pot and use medium heat until the water reaches a slow boil, then reduce the heat to low, total time ~ 15 minutes.  The skins will slough off the fruit thickening the sauce.

Test the fruit with a fork for tenderness.
