2 large slices crusty, chewy sourdough bread
1 ripe avocado, halved, pitted, scooped out of shell
Olive oil
Flaky salt, coarse ground black pepper
½ lemon or lime
Optional garnishes (poached eggs, pickled or fresh chiles, basil, etc.)
- Toast bread
- Drizzle oil, sprinkle salt and pepper, mash half avocado into bread
- Squeeze citrus over top, add garnishes
- Serve immediately
